Dead-Chuffed Theatre is a community resource theatre group that produces performances, workshops and tuition.
Dead-Chuffed Theatre was founded by Martin J Saxton in 2019: a group of actors/prospective playwrights meeting in a pub in Mirfield on the second Tuesday of every month.
The first production was a rehearsed reading of new scripts written by the group on the theme of "Fashion" in January 2020 at the Cellar Theatre, LBT, Huddersfield.
During lockdown, the group continued to meet online like everyone else.
The second production of scripts by the group was in January 2024 in a Saturday Matinee performance at Mirfield Community Centre.
Dead- Chuffed works in various media: live performance, video and audio.
What we do...
Online writing and sharing workshops at various times by group agreement.
Live performing workshops are held on the third Saturday of every month.
We sometimes rehearse and perform scripts by our company members live on Zoom in Head Space Live.
We use a lot of improvisation to explore our characters and situations.
We often video these to be shown on our social media pages.
We do live performances for local audiences.
We also create performance and workshops for primary schools
